원대신시장은 대구 지하철 3호선 원대역과 원대오가리 인근에 있다. 1976년에 문을 열었으며, 다양한 점포로 이루어진 자그마한 소형시장이다. 천장에 아케이드를 조성하여 계절이나 날씨에 관계없이 언제나 장 보기에 나설 수 있다. 시장에는 각종 먹거리를 비롯해 채소류, 생선류, 육류, 의류, 생활용품 등을 파는 상점이 들어찼다.
